Expanded mid-century

Holden Wood

Our architect client envisioned an expansion of the family’s mid-century Deck House that would respect the original context, yet bring new spaces and a more exuberant style to the home. He engaged Aurora to bring the vision to life. In the front, the new entry and mudroom connect to a lantern-like two-story tower that houses a dramatic stair with walnut slab treads and fine steel railings. To the rear of the home, a second volume houses an elegant owners’ suite with tree-top views above an office with separate entry.
