Oak

Family was the focus of this renovation and two-story rear addition that adapted a stately 1897 home to the rhythms of modern life. We worked closely with the client, a landscape architect, to  create a vibrant space for entertainment and togetherness. A 2½ in. elevation change at the back of the existing home proved quite a challenge. Our solution, a custom white oak tapered threshold beneath a pocket door, now connects the new family room to a traditional dining room, seamlessly merging present with past.
