Cherishing the details

Draper

The owners of this 1894 Queen Anne home wanted to preserve its historic character while updating it for modern life and energy efficiency. By applying a low-profile exterior membrane and sistering interior studs, we insulated for comfort and efficiency, while adding only 1in. to the original wall thickness. A geothermal heat pump and solar array complement the energy program. Inside and out, our carpenters meticulously restored hundreds of architectural features and recreated others using computer technology. Custom built-ins in the spacious kitchen and living spaces evoke Victorian style, while the openness welcomes natural light throughout.
